A Year in Review

2020 has been an extremely challenging year for our seniors, who have been particularly vulnerable to the Covid 19 pandemic. In response to this crisis, we have doubled the number people we have fed from 60 to approximately 120, including food and basic household necessities. Through a network of volunteers on the ground, we have kept a close eye on the seniors to provide support to our community.

Despite these challenges, KT continues to go from strength to strength, as we achieve our milestones and grow our partnerships. With funding from our partners, KT has embarked on the building permanent retirement homes for our seniors. As we complete the interior of one home, we look forward to growing the number of retirement homes as we welcome more families.

Past Years

In 2019, we saw the completion of a two-roomed family home, which now houses one family. We also improved living conditions for seniors within their homes, in addition to the food and bedding distributed.

2018 was a remarkable year, for which we are grateful! Through the generosity of our donors, we were able to increase the number of elderly people we serve by 50% to 65, up from 45 served in 2017 when the organization was founded. We served over 35,000 meals consisting of food staples such as millet, beans and bread. We started construction on a family home, due for completion in 2019. We gave away basic home supplies including clothing to the elderly and their families. We have built community, played with grandchildren, visited with the sick in the communities in Fort Portal, Uganda.

We also raised awareness about KT here in Virginia through outreach where we spoke spoke with parishioners at our local churches such as Holy Trinity and All Saints. These parishioners have been great supporters of KT, for which we are very grateful. Even the children in the communities have gotten involved. Ava and Anthony Morano, with the help of their parents Marc and Jennifer, set up a lemonade stand to raise money for KT!
